The happy Heathen, Dano Hammer, focuses on new Canadian and international Alternative Hip Hop, but with a Tardis.

Dano, aka Dan Miller, is a journalist, poet, artist and musician. He got his start in radio at Vancouver's CKNW / CFMI as well as at CKST with the legendary David Marsden in the early '90's. After a decade developing the infant web, Dan returned to radio with Salt Spring's first commercial radio venture CFSI, now defunct.

Convinced non-profit, community radio was the way forward, Dano was among the founding members of the Gulf Islands Community Radio Society a decade ago.

Being a fan of Rap since the 70's, Dano keeps his ear on the pulse of new, alternative, independently produced, especially Canadian, Hip Hop, while occasionally drawing deep into his library from decades past.
